Hi Erik, not sure we need to complicate matters like this — then again your description of “for pitches” and “for TED talks” is unclear, so I can’t tell what you really mean underneath it all. You might have something, but as a reader I’m still in the dark.

I believe everyone needs to know the difference between marketing personas and usage personas. You’ve got that right. And there are different phases of usage that should be addressed (as mental spaces in a persons pursuit of a larger purpose), as well as different thinking styles.
